Schools & Businesses Come Together at the 2017 Networking Breakfast |
Approximately 200 local business, community, and school system members attended the 11th annual Networking Breakfast with the Superintendent on September 27, 2017. Our new venue at La Fountaine Bleue in Glen Burnie allowed for even more opportunities to showcase business-community partnerships, including 14 vendor tables that shared information about local businesses and AACPS programs.
During the breakfast, Superintendent of Schools George Arlotto recognized the important role that the business community plays in preparing students for their future. A student panel of two AACPS students and a recent graduate also shared personal stories of how partnerships between schools and local businesses shaped their lives and academic goals.
The Networking Breakfast also provided an opportunity to honor 12 community partners that have gone above and beyond to support our students & schools (see list of honorees here). A special thanks to our Presenting Sponsor Daly Computers, Inc. and all of our 2017 Networking Breakfast Sponsors for their generous support of this year’s event.

Business Partner Spotlight: Westfield Annapolis |
Westfield Annapolis has offered a high-profile venue to present AACPS students’ visual artwork since the 1980s. Exhibiting artwork is an essential part of the art program experience and the generous donation of space to accommodate work from K-12 artists across the county is to be noted.
Over the past year, Westfield Annapolis has expanded their partnership even further through its support of Project Prom, which raises funds to offset the cost of prom for AACPS graduating seniors in need, and the Westfield Annapolis Family Game Night, a monthly evening of fun, food, and games for families of all ages.
The next and final Game Night of the season will be on Tuesday, October 24. Grab dinner, play games, and try out virtual reality on the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift! Reserve your tickets here.
