The 21st Century Education Foundation (21st CEF) Business Partnership Award offers an opportunity for Anne Arundel County Public Schools to recognize outstanding business and community organizations whose partnerships have enhanced our students’ education. The following individuals/organizations partners will be recognized at the 2018 Networking Breakfast with the Superintendent for their commitment to supporting our students, schools, and families:

Nominated by Mills-Parole Elementary School

“The Annapolis City Police Department not only respond to our times of need, but they frequently stop by in the school to say hello and check on the students. From character education, demonstrations of K-9 dogs and showing the SWAT vehicle and materials, students are engaged with the police force in a positive way and learn from their experiences and expertise.”–Ginger Henley, Principal

“Faye Currie regularly supports our [Signature] program initiatives and leads the Links Leadership Academy for young ladies at Annapolis High School. “ClearShark H2O provides thousands of AACPS students with opportunities for hands on experiences on and around out local waterways. “Kristen and Art at Dankmeyer have gone above and beyond to partner with Park and North Glen Elementary Schools, becoming our experts on prosthetics. “Henry J. Knott Masonry, Inc. has supported the Center of Applied Technology for over 25 years. Alumni Paul Catrino [Superintendent at Knott Masonry] is a lead member of the Masonry Program Advisory at CAT-North…Because of his involvement, Henry J. “Cheryl Queen, owner of Huntington Learning Center, began her partnership with Northeast through the Signature program two years ago. over the past two years, Ms. Queen has participated in several Signature events and activities which include: Mock Interviews, Networking Breakfast, Signature curriculum writing, and monthly ICST meetings. “Pongos Interactive has donated summer camps and classes to Crofton Meadows, Crofton Woods, Crofton and Nantucket Elementary Schools…The after school clubs run all year round to prepare students for the annual Wonder League Robotics Competition. The greatest contribution Pongos Interactive has made to this community is its sponsorship of the annual STEAM festival in Crofton. This free festival encourages kids to pursue a career in science and technology.”

“Mrs. Howes provides practical experiences to students by spearheading the Career Expo and creating real-world competitions for students to gain skills. Mrs. Howes is on the Signature Integrated Community Stakeholders Team and is secretary for the Business and Community Advisory Board.
