21st CEF Grant Program

The 21st Century Education Foundation awarded $5,100 this Spring to AACPS schools and offices through the 21st CEF Grant Program. Launched in 2017, this grant provides  financial support to projects, programs and intiatives that support student learning but fall outside of the school system's budget. This Spring, the 21st CEF awarded funding to ten schools and offices for programs that will promote literacy, mentoring, AVID opportunities, and more:

  • Edgewater Elementary School: Mentoring Program ($500)
  • Crofton Meadows: Kindergarten Home Reader Program ($500)
  • Phoenix Academy: Graduation Expenses ($500)
  • Glen Burnie High School: AVID White Boards ($500)
  • North County High School: AVID White Boards ($500)
  • Marley Middle School: Agenda Books for AVID Students ($500)
  • AACPS Library & Media Program: Teen Literature Program ($500)
  • Monarch Academy Annapolis: Black Eyed Susan 2018-19 Reading Challenge ($500)
  • Food & Nutrition Services: Sun N Fun Summer Program ($800)
  • Phoenix Academy: 9th Grade Chohort Data Collection & Sharing ($300)


What is the 21st CEF Grant Program?

The 21st CEF grant program provides financial support for AACPS educators, schools, and offices to fund projects, programs, or initiatives that support student learning. The Foundation solicits applications for classroom support, program enhancements, professional development, and/or special events.

Applications for the 21st CEF Grant Program are accepted in the Fall and Spring.
